App Privacy Policy
Covers the Renown Travel mobile app's "Hire a Coach" enquiry form. Effective 23 September 2026.
Renown Travel ("we", "us", "our") operates the Renown Travel mobile app (the "App"), which lets you send us a coach hire enquiry. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and what we do with it.
We are a UK business and handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you submit the "Hire a Coach" enquiry form, the App sends us:
- Contact details — your name, organisation (if given), email address and phone number.
- Journey details — pickup location, destination, outbound/return dates and times, trip type.
- Party details — number of passengers, whether you need wheelchair access and how many spaces.
- Extra notes — anything you type into the luggage or additional notes fields.
The App does not require an account, and does not ask for your location, camera, contacts, or any device permission beyond what's needed to fill in and submit the form. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking technology of any kind — the App genuinely only does one thing: send your enquiry to us.
How we use it
The information you submit is used solely to respond to your coach hire enquiry — to check availability, quote a price, and arrange your booking. We will not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in elsewhere (for example our website newsletter sign-up, which is unrelated to this App).
Where it goes
When you submit the form, it's sent over an encrypted connection to our own server, which emails it directly to our bookings team. We do not operate a database of enquiries — the App and its server don't store your submission anywhere; the only copy that exists afterwards is the email in our office mailbox, which we handle under our normal email retention and security practices.
Your enquiry email is delivered via our email provider acting purely as our outgoing mail server — they process the message on our behalf and do not use its contents for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any other third party, and we don't use it for advertising.
Data retention
Since the App itself stores nothing, retention is governed by how long we keep enquiry emails in our office mailbox — generally for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting booking, and consistent with our other business records.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold,
- correct it if it's wrong,
- delete it, or
- stop using it for a particular purpose.
To do any of this, contact us using the details below. Since your enquiry lives in our office email rather than a database, deletion means removing the relevant email(s) — let us know and we'll action it.
Not happy with how we've handled your data? You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The App is intended for adults arranging coach travel and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the App collects or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the effective date above. Significant changes will be reflected in an App update.
